Last weekend I made the long trip home to visit my parents. Going into the weekend my knee was mostly feeling better, so I left the crutches I had previously been using at the apartment. On Monday, we went to Six Flags Fiesta Texas in San Antonio. I thought I was feeling pretty good so I didn't bring anything into the park with me, which I quickly learned was a mistake. By half way through the day my knee was hurting badly. Now even though I've been taking it easy the past few days my knee is still hurting a lot.
Before I left my parents bought me a cane to use on my way back and afterwards. Since I can still mostly use my leg the cane is making it easier to walk around than the crutches did. What I didn't realize was how differently people treat you when you have a cane or other assisting item. Most of the people I came into contact with on my way back were extremely nice and willing to help me out. I'm going to keep taking it easy and hopefully get better.
