Feasts and Alcohol: A WoW Diabetes Tale
I've finally starting doing some in-depth testing of WoW Diabetes. I have a spread sheet with all of the food and drink items that is forming a checklist. One of the first things I noticed when I started testing beverages is that alcoholic beverages don't act in the same way that some of the others do. Most of the time when a player uses a beverage it casts a spell called drink, the alcoholic beverages don't cast that. They cast some version of alcohol, weak or strong. In order to make the add-on react properly when an alcoholic beverage is consumed, I just had to add those two spells to the check.
Feasts, on the other hand, have been causing me a ton of issues. Since the food doesn't originate within a players' bag, I'm having to figure out another way to do this. I think I've figured out a way to do it, but in order to see what type of feast is being eaten is going to get more complicated. When a player eats from a feast, they have a food and drink "aura" applied to them. This is just the games way of saying that there is something extra affecting the player. To be able to differentiate the different feasts, I'm going to have to test each feast and get the information specific to it to add to my tables. I will hopefully be working on this in the near future.
