Crazy days and Lazy Days
Today has been super hectic. It started earlier than normal for me as I went in to help clean out what we call the bunker on campus. The bunker contains lots of neat toys for our open source program as well as some swag from past conferences we've gone to. It used to contain a lot more swag and some old tablets and things that weren't very useful. It took us quite a while to even get everything out of the bunker before we could start organizing and deciding what should be kept around.
During lunch I got to watch the teaser trailer for the next World of Warcraft expansion which could be an interesting one. They announced a new playable class that can be a tank so I will more than likely try it out.
After I got home from cleaning I noticed that my pc was ready to update to Windows 10, which I've been wanting to try out. I have a copy of Windows 7 still so if things don't work out I don't have to hate my computer for the next couple of years. The one thing I didn't think about when I started the update was how it might affect WoW. Tonight was raid night so it was important for me to have a running computer. Thankfully things worked out pretty well. WoW still ran fine, though I did have to modify some of the graphics settings to get everything back to where I had it.
We killed 10 bosses tonight when normally we only get 8 or 9 so that was awesome, and means we'll have more time on Sunday to hopefully start trying to kill the final boss. I've also got some ideas for how I'm going to deal with Tyrant Velhari, the boss I have trouble with, so Sunday will be an interesting raid night for sure.
I haven't had much time to spend with Windows 10 just yet as it finished upgrading not long befroe raid started, but so far it seems fine. It doesn't seem any worse than Windows 7. I did notice that Edge, the Internet Explorer replacement, is definitely much faster than Internet Explorer ever was. I'm going to dive into the settings of Edge tomorrow to see if I can set things up to my liking and replace Chrome as my default browser.
