Learning New Cross Stitching Tricks
One of the things I've been doing this summer, so that I'm not constantly looking at a computer screen or screen of any type, is cross stitching. I've had a rose cross stitch that my sister gave me for a couple of years now and never done much work on it. I decided this will be the first of hopefully many projects that I'll be doing in some of my down time that don't require a computer.
One thing I've realized working on this project is that if you have a big area of one color all together in the center, you should do that before something that's just framing. If you do the framing first then when you go to do the middle section your stitches will pull on the thread of the framing section and it becomes incredibly difficult to keep the fabric flat.
Other than that so far it's going great, I'm a little over half way done with it so far and hopefully will be finishing it in the next month or two.
