A Break from Computers
Over the past few weeks, and definitely over the past few years, I have spent a ton of time in front of a computer screen. Sometimes for the purpose of work, others for play. This past weekend I decided I needed to take a break from it for a bit. Outside of work I spent as much time away from my computer and video games as I could.
For a few years I've been in the process of working on a cross stitch. It's the largest pattern I've ever tried, so I've gotten disheartened by it and given up a few times. But if I give up on this, how can I ever finish anything? Being able to finish things is extremely important and this cross stitch is one of many things I'd like to finish in the coming weeks. It's rather large so I know it's going to take quite some time to complete, but it's something I need to do. I've decided that each weekend I'm going to spend time away from my computer to keep working on this project. That's not to say that I won't work on it during the week sometimes too, but I want to devote some time after work each day to bettering myself as a programmer as well.
I've mentioned before that I'm working on Space Invaders, and I'm not as far into that project as I'd like to be. I also have had an idea for a cross stitch related program that I've been fleshing out. I'm hoping to start working more on that soon. During the week I will most likely be splitting my free time between these two projects and doing most of my cross stitching over the weekends.
